I have received comments from several people concerning navigating my site. They tell me that it's confusing and difficult. I agree with them 100% and thank them for their comments. It's totally intentional on my part. I want people who visit my pages to discover content other than what they actually came to see. There are surprises around every corner. You will find content of interest to you in places you would not have intentionally visited unless you got lost. Life has rules and laws we must all follow, but how you structure your life and routines is totally up to you. It's called FREEDOM to think and act. My daily schedule is spontaneous, not structured. This site design is spontaneous and unstructured, like my life. So, come on in and get lost in all the fun and music. When you find your way out, come back again. There will be more surprises awaiting you on your return. How are you going to discover something new if you only seek what you know? ... berryroll
Watching videos with a Slower Connection
I don't want you to miss out on any of the great videos that I have posted on my site. If you have a slow connection like I do, here is what I do to be sure I can enjoy the video.
When the video starts and then hesitates due to the player running faster than the video can upload, I click the pause button and look to see that the video is uploading and how fast it is uploading. This is indicated by the red bar you will see moving across the bottom of the player.
If it is moving steadily and at a good pace, I wait until the video is 1/3 to 1/2 loaded then resume play. In most cases the player will not out run the video upload and you can enjoy the great video without interruption.
If the video upload is very slow, I will pause the player and while video is uploading, I will do something else to occupy myself. Such as... watch a little TV on mute, get some munchies or a drink, go to the john, start washing dishes, text a friend or enemy, recite the alphabet backwards (or any of the other well know sobriety tests), clean my fingernails, turn off the lights for a few minutes then back on and quickly look for roaches, scratch my ba.. back , twiddle my thumbs and twiddle my dee, try not to think about anything, hold my breath till I pass out (not highly recommended).
footnote; If it wasn't for time, everything would happen all at once!
OK, now check the video. Once loaded or at least 1/2 way, I will then watch and enjoy the great video.
I hope this helps or at least convince you that patience is a virtue and it will be worth the wait.
Volume up... Bass at max... head phones on... attitude off!
Please enjoy BerryrollOnline as much as I enjoy posting and maintaining it... berryroll aka. Roland
Some music videos on my pages can be accessed by clicking on a thumbnail picture which will open a new tab or window to view the video. Or, I have drop-down menus which allow you to select a song title. Click on the "open in new window" button and the video will play in a new tab or window.
Now, below is a music video player with playlist. You will find these in various colors throughout my site. They are very easy to use once you find where everything is that make them work.
Here are the basics:
Upper right hand corner is the volume control slider - lets you control the volume by clicking on it or sliding the knob up or down. Upper left hand corner is a thumbnail picture of the video that accompanies the song. Once you have selected a track/song from the playlist, click on the bottom of this thumbnail picture and the video will play right in the player itself. Whenever you want the playlist to show again, just click on the little up-arrow at the bottom right of the player. Then of course you have your play/pause button and next and previous arrow buttons.
go ahead and pick a track, watch the video and play with the controls. Now go back to my music pages and enjoy all the terrific music videos.
thanks, berryroll
Next is the SoundCloud player you'll find on many of my music pages. Some are single song players and others have a playlist with multiple tracks. It's very easy to operate once you know all the bells and whistles that come with it. So, without further ado, here's how it works;
Click on the play arrow on the left side of the player to play the song. It will change to a vertical = sign which when clicked, will pause the song. The numbers under the play arrow show you, in minutes and seconds, time played / length of track.
On the right end of the player you will see 5 options; top option is the speaker which when clicked, allows you to adjust the volume with a slider bar that shoots out. Click it again and the volume slider bar goes away. The next option is "info" which will display some info on the track and artist. Next is a down arrow which doesn't do anything unless you're on the sight. The </> symbol will allow you to embed this player on your website if you have one, or link to the player on SoundCloud. The last option is the comment button. If the player does not show the comments and you click on it, the comments will be displayed and visa versa. All that stuff in the middle is the wave form which gives you a visual of the song playing. The dark background you will see moving across the wave form is the song uploading. The player color moving across the wave form is the song playing. This player has a playlist with multiple tracks to choose from. click on play button to play track highlighted in playlist or click on a track to highlight song and click play button to play that song. Either way, when the song playing is finished, the player will automatically move to the next song for continuous play. There is a vertical slide bar on the right of the playlist allowing more tracks to be displayed if there are more tracks that can be displayed at the same time in the window.
Well, that's about it. Please mess around with the player below to see how everything works. Once familiar with the player, go on to the many music pages and enjoy yourself on my site or Groove n Surf the internet while listening to great music.
On some pages I have buttons like this one (will normally show artist and song) which will open a video in a pop-up window rather than a new tab or browser window. In order for it to work in IE Internet Explorer) I had to go to "tools" --> "internet options --> "general" --> look for "tabs" and click on "settings". Look for "when a pop-up is encountered" and check "always open pop-ups in a new window". Click "OK" and "OK" again. close IE and re-open and button should open video in a pop-up window instead of a new tab. Try the button below...
